A New Sample of Gamma-Ray Emitting Jetted Active Galactic Nuclei—Preliminary Results

چکیده

We are compiling a new list of gamma-ray jetted active galactic nuclei (AGN), starting from the fourth catalog point sources Fermi Large Area Telescope (LAT). Our aim is to prepare AGN with known redshifts and classifications be used calibrate jet power. searched in available literature for all published optical spectra multiwavelength studies useful characterize sources. found new, missed, or even forgotten information leading substantial change redshift values classification many present here preliminary results this analysis some statistics based on right ascension within interval 0h--12h (J2000). Although flat-spectrum radio quasars BL Lac objects still dominant populations, there significant increase number other objects, such as misaligned AGN, narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies, galaxies. also introduced two classes objects: changing-look ambiguous About one third remain unclassified.

A spectral study of gamma-ray emitting active galactic nuclei

In this paper we present a statistical analysis of the γ-ray spectra of flat-spectrum radio quasars (FSRQ) compared to those of BL Lacs. The average spectra and possible systematic deviations from power-law behaviour are investigated by summing up the intensity and the power-law fit statistic for both classes of objects. We also compare the time-averaged spectrum to that at the time of γ-ray out...

A new interpretation of the gamma-ray observations of active galactic nuclei

Gamma-ray telescopes have reported some surprising observations of multiTeV photons from distant active galactic nuclei (AGN), which show no significant attenuation due to pair production off the extragalactic background light (EBL). Furthermore, some sources are believed to have such a high intrinsic density of low-energy photons that the very high energy (VHE) photons should have been absorbe...

The Correlation of Gamma - Ray Bursts with Active Galactic Nuclei

We search for angular correlation of gamma-ray bursts with cataloged quasars, BL Lac objects, and AGN using a large sample of relatively well-localized bursts detected by WATCH on board GRANAT and EURECA, IPN, and BATSE (327 bursts total). A statistically significant (99.99% confidence) correlation between GRB and MB < −21 AGN in the redshift range 0.1 < z < 0.32 is found. The correlation with ...

Gamma–Ray Emission from Active Galactic Nuclei – an Overview

Gamma-ray emission from AGN provides us with unprecedented insights into the physics of extragalactic jets. The emission from these jets fits naturally into the existing theoretical framework of relativistic jets as inferred from parsec scale and kiloparsec scale observations. Models of the γ-ray fluxes give us important knowledge of jet parameters, in particular magnetic fields and the size of...

Gamma-ray burst afterglows from jetted shocks in wind environments

Gamma-ray bursts with long durations are widely thought to arise from the collapse of massive stars, where the wind environment is unavoidable. It is also believed that γ-ray bursts come from jets. Considering these two points in this paper, we calculate the evolution of a highly collimated jet that expands in a stellar wind environment and the expected afterglow from such a jet. We use a set o...
